LAPD Press Conference

The City of Los Angeles and the victim’s family is offering a total reward of $50,000 for information leading to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the suspect(s) in the shooting death of Jason Cortez.

On Friday, September 10, 2021 Officers responded to the 4235 Monterey Road (Debs Park) where the victim was walking on a hiking trail and was shot with an unknown caliber weapon. The suspect was last seen northbound through Debs Park trails.

The suspect is described as male, hispanic, 5’10 to 5’11’’ height, and between 20-30 years old. The suspect wore a blue hooded sweater.
